speechless...

Recently I had a run in with a person's ingrained set of habit. It was one that still shocks me.

I am in the midst of moving, and also, in turn, clearing out my house of stuff I do not need, or have not ever used since moving into this place, over five years ago. I have decided to pass all of these miscellaneous on to a local charity.

On this particular day I was dropping off five bags of clothes (only one was mine, the rest were from friends). I decided to park near the door to the community services room; logical, no? I came out to my car, after retrieving someone to help me I saw an older gentleman looking at the front of my car and I believe he even tapped the hood gently. I did not understand why, I still don't. As I got to the point where I could see my whole car I saw one, get this ONE, other vehicle on the entirety of the parking lot; it was parked perpendicular to mine, and about three or less, that's right, three feet behind the rear of my vehicle. I could not believe someone would actually do that, but this man did.

I was able to get my car out, with great difficulty, as there were no parking markers or large rocks in front of my car.

I drove to the same area the following week, and there was the same white van parked about where the hood of my car was placed only seven days previously.

Habits, are just that I guess. They are hard to break, and when one is forced to change a habit one may make decisions that counteract normal thought, because the habit must be accomplished. My global thought on this one... wow...

not as it seems...

There was a time when I saw events and tasks in life through a simple lens view. "All I have to do is... and then .... will come about" or "Of course people will vote for me... I'm awesome and should win!" What I am finding is that life is more complicated in reality. The simple lens view is important to keep the confidence needed to achieve a big goal, but it is the reality, the fears, the struggles, the successes that allow our goals to be so much bigger once we achieve them!

When I started a few things, that I am currently working on, I had the rose-coloured (this is spelt correctly for those of my american readers!) glasses on. I am now realizing that I cannot achieve true success without the help of others; it is more fun too!

I guess what I am wanting to say, and I am talking to myself too, even when a project is not as it first seemed to be, no matter what stage a it is at if it is a worthy project or task DO NOT GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT! Keep at it! The rewards will be great for all your hard work!

The only way you will lose is if you give up!

April is Financial Literacy Month

Financial education is very important. It can save marriages, and families, in turn. The education, is a good one and put into place as soon as possible, will help people meet their goals and dreams, both now and in retirement.

91% of Canadians are not going to be able to retire at the standard of living they live before retirement, if they are going to be able to retire at all. The new retirement is Part-time employment. This statistic breaks my heart, and makes me want to educate the world about how money works! What hurts more is that we are not taught the real basics of what we need to know, unless we know the right people. This information is free, why doesn't the general public know it?
