Why is it so difficult? Honestly?! Once it is found it is not easy either; the whole learning curve can be so huge, it happens every time the search comes to an end. In todays society it is pretty much a guarantee that the search will happen again, no matter your age. The working years; not easy or simple, at all. People me never be able to actually retire, anymore. The new retirement is to work the amount of hours one needs to to support the need that is not covered by pensions and government support.

One would think, with the internet and all, that the job search of today would be less hindered; it is not. I believe that the search has become more complicated, in-fact; how do you know which search engine to use that will provide you the best results (yahoo, google, something else)? From there how do you know which job search engine to use: monster, jobsearch.ca, craigslist, among many, many others out there. Now one spends MANY hours on the computer "looking" for a job opportunity, vs actually dropping off resumes at locations you are interested in working at. The computer movement is very in-personable; one will never actually meet the person hiring her till the actual interview. The employer takes a chance too, as they too do not know who is coming into the interview.

So much can be said about the initial resume drop off. Jeans: bad. Slacks: good. Mullet: bad (OK, mullet is bad any time: it is not 1984 anymore). Mini skirt with fishnet stockings: bad. Blazer: good. Smile: very good. Email resume drop-off: better be well written, as that is your first and maybe your only introduction. Yes, the visual can make or break the invite to the interview session, so I guess the email/ internet resume drop-off shows itself as an advantage.

No matter how one drops-off a resume or applies for a job it appears as if the search appears as if it will be a never ending adventure for today's generation, unless they are successful at what they do, and they choose to do what they love long-term (and it provides pension, benefits, or anything the person strives to have in added work benefits).
